I met Cordelia outside of her Ortley Beach home on January 19th. With her hard hat, work gloves, and hammer, Cordelia worked alone to break up pieces of sidewalk cement stuck in her front yard. She can no longer enter her house without using a ladder. Just last week they removed a house that had been washed off of its frame and pushed onto her home. Cordelia grew up on the barrier islands and fears her dream of retiring here might be fading.
