The Fire on Rockaway Beach Blvd

Broken power lines fell onto a 3 story apartment building causing a fire that destroyed at least a dozen homes and businesses on Rockaway Beach Boulevard between Beach 113 st and Beach 115 st in Queens. Firefighters battled the blaze into the evening of October 31st. The New York City Fire Department reported there were 94 storm related fires. 68 were electrical, 20 were caused by open flames like candles, and six from generators.
